Til Gudd Laddoo (Sesame Jaggery Laddoo)

Til Gudd Laddoo (Sesame Jaggery Laddoo)

sesame jaggery laddoo

Ingredients:

Til/Sesame Seeds               500gms

Gudd/Jaggery                     300gms

Water                                      100gms

Procedure:

1. Add jaggery into a heated pan and add water and cook until its melted and a syrup is formed.
2. In another pan roast the sesame seeds until it starts to crackle. Then turn the gas off and let it cool.
3. Check whether jaggery syrup is done by pouring a small drop in a bowl of water, if the drop retains its shape it’s done else cook it some more until the drop holds itself in water.
4. Now turn off the gas, add sesame seeds and mix it well.
5. Let it cool but not for too long or it’ll get hardened and won’t remain workable. Just cool enough so that the heat is bearable for making laddoos.
6. Apply some water or oil on hands and make laddoos of desired size.
7. Let it cool and enjoy.

P.S. – You can add some ghee(clarified butter) to the mix if it’s too stiff. It’ll make it easier to make laddoos. Just make sure not to add a lot of ghee as it’ll make binding laddoos hard and they’ll fall apart.
